Visit Borjomi Park
Meet your driver and guide in Tbilisi and head to Borjomi Park. Take a walk in National Park famous worldwide with its mineral water reserves. Borjomi Central Park was renovated and reopened in 2005. The park has an ecological theme and features children’s amusement rides, a swimming pool and cinema. There is also a cable car leading up to a scenic overlook. Another attraction in the park is the peculiar statue of Prometheus which stands at the base of a small waterfall. Onlookers are often amused, by this seemingly syncretic representation of the titan deviant. Borjomi mineral water has become a well known brand and a calling card for Georgia. The sulfuric water’s healing properties are proven to be directly beneficial to the digestive system and metabolism. Today, Borjomi mineral water is sold in over 30 countries. Samples and history of the brand can be found in the Museum of Local Lore. The primary water source is found in Borjomi Central Park.
Visit Rabati Castle
Drive towards the South-West of Georgia passing Borjomi town. Arrive in Akhaltsikhe for a tour inside Rabati fortress. Its name comes from Arabic meaning “fortified place”. The old stone Rabati fortress is standing on the small hill on the very shores of the Potskhovi River.
Visit Vardzia Cave City
Continue our tour to Vardzia. En route, short photo-stop at Khertvisi fortress (10-11th century). Arrive to Vardzia, which was erected in the 12-13th centuries during the rule of George III and his daughter Queen Tamara for the purpose of the southern boundaries of Georgia protection. Vardzia is not just a set of random rooms cut in rocks. It is a multi-storied complex with streets, tunnels and stairs leading to monasteries, temples, fortresses, baths, libraries dwelling houses and so forth.
